How many cameras can a 120W power supply handle?

A 120W (12V 10A) power supply unit can power several video surveillance cameras simultaneously. For example, if a single camera consumes a maximum of 10W, it is recommended to connect approximately 8–9 cameras; however, if an additional 30W is allocated for a DVR recorder and its hard drive, the capacity is reduced to approximately 5–6 cameras.

A standard analog camera consumes approximately 3–9W, an IP camera 5–12W, and a DVR with a single hard drive approximately 20–35W.

For stable and long-term operation, it is recommended to maintain a 20–30% power margin for the power supply unit. The total maximum power consumption of the devices must not exceed the capacity of the power supply unit.

DC 5.5×2.5 mm and DC 5.5×2.1 mm connectors are different. Before connecting the device, verify the exact connector size and polarity.

This power supply unit is not intended for 19V, 24V, or 48V devices, or for equipment with different power requirements.
